csm debate live on eve radio tonight!WHAT?!
reported by CCP Diagoras | 2012.03.02 10:52:33 | NEW Tonight there will be a debate between two of the candidates in the upcoming Counil of Stellar Management elections broadcast live on EVE Radio. The broadcast begins at 00:01 on the 3rd March. Make sure you don't miss what's certainly to be an entertaining debate!
No offense to Eve Radio- I'm glad they are getting some press for their work- but what the hell CCP Diagoras? Why advertise one CSM related radio show when there have been so many done by other hard working Eve community sites over the past couple weeks covering many more candidates?
Voices from the Void podcast: http://www.voicesfromthevoid.net/ --> 4 candidates with 5 more upcoming
Lost in Eve podcast: http://www.lostineve.net/ --> 11 candidates in 4 shows
Fly Reckless podcast: http://www.flyreckless.com/blog/ --> 1 candidate (but it was the best one ... go Aleks CSM7!)
Once again this appears to be a case of not what you do, but who you know to get official CCP notice.
Maby they think they are special you know... EVE Radio. Hehe...
ReplyDeleteThe hint on Diagoras' News item is "EVE Radio is awesome! Broadcasting for nearing a decade; you should listen in!" Ok, fine, but...definitely contributes to the "special treatment" perception.
ReplyDeleteActually, it's equal parts Diagoras (and Xhagen), the comm team, and myself. Lost In EVE contacted me with their debates so I posted to social media. Was going to do the same with this one. VoV and Fly Reckless didn't ping me, but I'll promote them nonetheless. ~Manifest
ReplyDeleteJust to put in my own little two cents; no one at Voices contacted CCP requesting publicity. I’ve always been of the opinion that if the content we publish is quality enough to be recognized by others than it will be. If others, be it blogs, CCP, whoever don’t publicize for us; well it just is what it is. We post on twitter, G+, the forums, but sending in a petition or e-mail requesting CCP send out a tweet or make a facebook post on our behalf wasn’t something we considered. Plus I’m a redditor; asking for likes is a big no-no. If your product is content and quality rich, the likes and shout outs will come on their own.
